Also take time to complete a final spelling and capitalisation check, as errors cannot be fixed after your discs are manufactured.
Pre-gaps
The Redbook standard requires a 2 second pre-gap before the start of Track 1. This default setting allows older CD players time to buffer audio data and un-mute audio output to the speakers to avoid clipping. (If you already have silence at the beginning of Track 1 you can change this setting if required).
The pre-gap between the remaining tracks is personal preference and will probably be determined by one of the following factors:
ISRC Codes
Please note that ISRC codes and not a required field and are not needed for us to complete your order.
The ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) is the system used to identify individual audio tracks and can be used for both physical CD and digital online formats. Audio tracks encoded with ISRC metadata can be automatically identified for royalty payments.
Most recording studios and record labels can issue ISRC codes for artists. Alternatively there are now a number of digital distribution sites and online stores where you can obtain ISRC codes for your music. The ISRC information will be a series of 12 digit codes that you can include when completing this form.
CD-Text
In addition to your actual music, Audio CDs can also contain Metadata such as CD-Text. Information including Artist Name, Track Name and Album Title can be encoded as CD-Text and will display when the disc is inserted into a compatible device such as a car stereo.
We take the information you provide in this form to create the CD Text for your Audio CD.
It is important to note that CD-Text will only display on devices that support it. Devices with an internet connection such as iTunes and Windows Media Player will not recognize any of the CD-Text on the disc. When album information is displayed on a computer, it is a result of your CD being registered with the Gracenote or AllMusic databases.
Album Title
The Album Title field contains the CD Text that applies to the whole Album/Single/CD/EP/Compilation.
This is a required field and cannot be left blank.
Album Artist
The Album Artist is a CD Text field that contains the artist name that applies to the whole Album/CD/EP/Compilation.
This is not a required field and you may want to leave this blank if the album is a compilation/mix disc and there are multiple artists involved.
Track Title
The Track Title is a CD Text field that contains the title of the individual track.
This is a required field and cannot be left blank.
Track Artist
The Track Artist is a CD Text field which contains the artist name that applies to the individual track.
This is a required field and cannot be left blank.
Special Characters in CD-Text
The CD-Text standard defined by Sony uses the ISO 8859-1 character encoding which includes the most common characters used in western European languages. Unfortunately not all languages are covered completely. Generally you should be aware that titles stored in CD-Text will often be displayed on CD-Players or car stereos that have only very limited displays. Many of these devices will not show any special characters at all.
Gracenote & AllMusic online database
When your CD is inserted into a device connected to the internet the music software will attempt to identify the disc by connecting to an online CD database. It will not use the CD Text metadata that is encoded on the disc. For the software to correctly identify your disc you will need to have registered your CD.
iTunes, WinAmp and Mac OS Finder use the Gracenote online database to display album information. You can find more information on how to register your CD with Gracenote here: www.gracenote.com

It is important to note that even when your disc is registered it can still be matched incorrectly and display the wrong information. This is because the database will only try to identify the disc based on the exact length of the tracks in sequence. And because there are millions of albums already registered, incorrect matches do occur.
